When we lived in Tingewick I had an allotment. As you all know the back garden at the cottage was too small to grow vegetables or cut flowers so a big plot of land in the village was ideal.
What we got was far from a perfect allotment, far from even calling this plot of land an allotment.....but at the end we made it work (it was not easy!)
The soil was very hard and there was no water at the allotment. I was carrying few big bottles of water each day to the allotment to water everything.
We planted lots of potatoes, vegetable and flowers. I grew most of them from seeds in my greenhouse :) I spent all my free time at the allotment and enjoyed it very much.
